THE MINISTER OF COGTA ANNOUNCES RISK ADJUSTED STRATEGY REGULATIONS RELATING TO LEVEL 4 RESTRICTIONS

The President announced on the 23rd April 2020 that South Africa will begin a gradual and phased recovery of economic activity. The President announced that we will take a deliberate and cautious approach to the easing of current lockdown restrictions with effect from 1 May 2020. To this end the Minister of COGTA, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, has gazetted, in terms of the Disaster Management Act, new regulations relating to the COVID-19 Level 4 restrictions.

Level 4 of the Lockdown means that some activities can be allowed to resume subject to extreme precautions required to limit community transmission and outbreaks. The risk adjusted strategy regulations relate to government’s measures to reduce the risk of infection and curtail the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus whilst gradually opening economic activity.
