Special Council Meeting Focuses on Service Delivery in Kai !Garib
Today, the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality convened a Special Council Meeting at the Kai !Garib Local Municipality, following a resolution adopted in December 2025 to decisively address ongoing service-delivery challenges within the area. The meeting created space for an open and frank engagement on the realities on the ground, allowing both the District and the Local Municipality to openly assess challenges, identify root causes, and discuss practical mitigation measures.
It was reaffirmed that co-operative governance, anchored in collaboration, accountability and a shared commitment to put communities first, remains the only sustainable pathway to improving service delivery outcomes. At the heart of it all is a simple but non-negotiable truth: access to basic services is not a privilege; it is a fundamental right. Delivering these services remains the most important responsibility of local government, because when communities are served, trust is rebuilt and progress becomes possible.
