R1 Billion Housing Project Launch in !Kheis Local Municipality
MEC of Cooperative Governance Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Bentley Vass launched the Kheis Opwag 50 House Project (!Kheis Local Municipality, ZF Mgcawu District) and services announcement. COGHSTA ZFM Regional Manager Mr Andre Phete and some Councillors from the Kheis Local Municipality accompanied MEC Vass.
The launch is part of the Northern Cape’s R1 Billion Housing Project. MEC Vass remarked that the Department would not tolerate shoddy workmanship from the contractor “We told all the Contractors including the one that we are introducing here today, that we are not going to expect shoddy workmanship. We told them that we do not expect unnecessary delays.
We told them that we do not want to see incomplete houses and abandoned sites. Our message was clear and direct that we are not expecting anything less than what we have agreed with them and that we will not tolerate anything less than good quality for the people of the Province, including you here in Opwag. All the houses that we are building across the Northern Cape, must be finished no later than the end of 2025 because the beneficiaries have waited for far too long for these houses.
