President visits Redstone Solar Plant as part of Presidential Imbizo
President Cyril Ramaphosa, accompanied by Minister of Human Settlements Mmamoloko Kubayi, Premier of Northern Cape Zamani Saul, ZFM Mgcawu District Mayor Maureen Basson, Mayor of Tsantsabane Local Municipality Helena English, Mayor of Kgatelopele Local Municipality Irene Williams, and the Chairman of ACWA Power Mohammed Abunayyan touring the Redstone ACWA Solar plant in Posmansburg, Northern Cape.

This is the largest renewable energy investment in the country. The construction is at 45.5% completion and it is expected that the plant will be in full operation in 2024. To date 31% of procurement spent has been mobilised on local content. Employment created thus far stands at 972 jobs with 1500 expected at the peak of construction.
