Mayor helps the Homeless

Wayne Chirisa once said “It takes a society to combat homelessness, and a strong nation to fight poverty”

It is this call to duty that compelled the Executive Mayor of the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality, Councillor Maryna Basson to feed the hungry street children today and provide them with some basic toiletries. As we approach the Easter weekend and enjoy our meals and attend our places of worship, we must think of those that are less fortunate than us.

Homeless children are a huge problem, especially in Upington and hunger is one of the many challenges they face that affect their daily lives. During this Easter, may we show compassion and kindness for all those in need.
