Joint Tuckshop Compliance Monitoring Operation

A Joint Tuckshop Compliance Monitoring Operation was conducted in the Dawid Kruiper area, led by the Northern Cape Consumer Protection Authority in collaboration with the Speaker of the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality, Cllr Stanley Peterson and the Speaker of Dawid Kruiper Municipality, Cllr Melanie Dodds, alongside councillors and various stakeholders. The operation aimed to ensure that local tuckshops comply with relevant regulations governing trade, health standards, and immigration requirements. Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) carried out inspections to assess hygiene and food safety compliance, while Immigration officials verified that foreign nationals operating the businesses had valid and compliant asylum documentation.
