Green Kalahari Tourism Festival
As part of Tourism and Heritage Month, the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality, Dawid Kruiper Local Municipality, Northern Cape Tourism Authority and the Dawid Kruiper Tourism Association hosted the Green Kalahari Tourism Festival over a two-day period.
The purpose of the Green Kalahari Festival was a way to help Tourism SMMEs to recover economically after the brutal impact of Covid-19, but also to showcase the Tourism Small Businesses within our community.
The Annual Upington 26 Memorial Lecture was presented by Mr Bovu, a member of the Upington 26. He gave an in-depth history of the events that led up to this trial and the impact it had on the Community of Paballelo. The young people of the Masakhane Arts Centre did not disappoint in their portrayal of the events that led up to the arrest of the Upington 26 in a well-documented play.
The two-day festival came to an end with a showcase of live performances, a display of various stalls of entrepreneurs selling their own products and enticing foods.
We wish to thank all those who participated and ensured the success of the Annual Green Kalahari Tourism Festival.
