District Joint-Operations Tuckshop registrations and food safety in Kgatelopele Municipality

On Wednesday, 11 December 2024, the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality kickstarted its District Joint Operation Multidisciplinary Inspections at the Kgatelopele Local Municipality. These critical operations arise from the resolutions adopted at the recent Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) meeting earlier this month.

During the inspections, our dedicated District Environmental Health Practitioners, together with the SAPS, Home Affairs Immigration, and other key stakeholders, uncovered alarming unhygienic practices, including rotten food being sold to the public.

As a result, prohibition notices were issued to Spaza Shops that pose significant risks to public health, ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities.
