District Joint Operations to address food safety and Spaza Shop registration in Tsantsabane Municipality
The ZF Mgcawu District Municipality, led by Executive Mayor Councillor Maryna Basson, conducted pivotal joint operations in the Tsantsabane Local Municipality. The initiative, supported by Tsantsabane Mayor Councillor Helena English, Members of the Mayoral Committee, and Ward Councillors, aimed to uphold trade regulations and safeguard public health and safety.
During the inspections, 19 tuckshops were assessed, leading to the closure of several non-compliant establishments. Prohibition notices, issued in accordance with Environmental Health legislation, were served to these businesses. These notices mandate the cessation of operations until all violations are addressed and compliance with the required standards is achieved.
