“A child in Sports is a child out of Court”
“A child in sports is a child out of court”, a saying highly supported by the Executive Mayor of the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality. Councillor Maryna Basson, Executive Mayor of ZFM, accompanied by members of the Mayoral Committee today met with learners of the Keidebees Intermediate School to wish them well ahead of their trip to Williston to represent their school in various sporting codes.
The Executive Mayor encouraged the learners to always put God first, remain disciplined at all times, and make the school and their parents proud in everything that they do. The benefits of participating in sports go beyond learning new physical skills. Sports help children develop better ways to cope with the highs and lows of life. When they’re playing sports, sometimes they will win, while at other times they will lose. Being a good loser takes maturity and practice.
The school has two netball teams and one soccer team that will be participating in an inter-school sports day over the weekend. A member of the School Governing Body wished the learners well, ahead of their trip and thanked the Executive Mayor and the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality for their contribution towards the school’s trip.
